2009-2010 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
OVERVIEW: The HIV/AIDS Prevention Capacity Building Initiative (CBI) provides a series of comprehensive HIV/AIDS workshops offering advanced knowledge and skill development to health and human service professionals, such as social workers and health educators, who serve Greater Cleveland.
CBI workshops provide Continuing Education credits for social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists, and chemical dependency professionals.

CBI 2009-2010 WORKSHOP SERIES INFORMATION
3-DAY CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOPS: $100 per person
3-Day Capacity Building Workshops are designed to provide the professional with a comprehensive overview of HIV/AIDS as it relates to serving people at risk for or infected with this disease.
3-Day Capacity Building Workshops are designed to train the trainer. Upon completion, participants are encouraged to educate their co-workers, staff and/or clients about HIV prevention.
Be advised that 3-Day Capacity Building Workshops are only open to individuals who have not yet completed a previous 3-Day workshop.
3-DAY WORKSHOP DATES
Session A: November 2-4, 2009
Session B: January 11-13, 2010
Session C: March 15-17, 2010
Session D: May 17-19, 2010
ONE-DAY ENHANCING PRACTICE WORKSHOPS: $35 each
One-Day Enhancing Practice Workshops are designed to strengthen the practice of health and human service professionals who have already acquired introductory knowledge and skill in HIV/AIDS.

Session I: October 21, 2009, Fear Factor: Combating HIV Stigma and Discrimination
Session II: December 9, 2009, Your Liver, Your Life: Hepatitis and HIV
Session III: February 3, 2010, HIV and Sexually Transmitted Disease Syndemics
Session IV: April 21, 2010, Breaking In: HIV and Imprisonment Interventions

Be advised that workshops have limited enrollment; participants are encouraged to register early. Priority is given to early registrants based on the date of the receipt of payment.
