AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland

In Memory of John Gustin

Dear friends and colleagues,

We are all extraordinarily saddened to report the untimely passing of John Gustin, AIDS Taskforce social worker, of cardiac arrest this past weekend.

John leaves behind his wife Hallie and their one year-old daughter Jana, as well as other family and a large community of friends and co-workers.  He was deeply loved and respected, and the loss for his family, and for all of us, is incalculable.  He was a sweet, loving man, and his passing is truly a tragedy.

Today’s Plain Dealer has a short notice, with a full obituary to come tomorrow (Wednesday).

A wake will be held Thursday, and a funeral service will be held Friday.  We will send out details as soon as we know.

We will also be holding a memorial service—an opportunity for people in the AIDS community (consumers and providers) to remember John—here at the AIDS Taskforce (3210 Euclid) on Tuesday, March 27th, at 3:00.  All are welcome.

The AIDS Taskforce has established a memorial fund to assist the family.  Those wishing to contribute may send gifts to:

All gifts will be forwarded to the family.

Those wishing to view or offer comments in the on-line Guest Book can go to http://obits.cleveland.com/Cleveland/GB/GuestbookView.aspx?PersonId=86875875.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, and those who loved John. We are all richer for having known him, and are all diminished by losing him.
